What's in a Spring Fling

Swig's online ordering menu lists it as: Dr Pepper + Vanilla + Strawberry Puree + Coconut Cream.

In plain words, it's Dr Pepper with vanilla syrup, strawberry puree and a layer of coconut cream. Take away the strawberry and you have the Texas Tab, which is Dr Pepper, vanilla and coconut cream. It's one of 10 dirty sodas made with regular Dr Pepper among the 40 Swig dirty sodas.

Swig's own TikTok account posted the drink on March 20, 2023, the first day of spring, with the same build. It posted it again for Valentine's Day on February 14, 2025.

How the Spring Fling price adds up

Going from a 32 oz to a 44 oz adds $0.20 at the middle-priced store ($4.69). A Swig drink's price is the cup plus each add-in. At the 49 stores that charge exactly $4.49 for a 32 oz, it breaks down like this:

Is the Spring Fling seasonal?

Not as far as the menu shows. It isn't marked seasonal on Swig's ordering menu, and on October 15, 2026, it was on the menu at all 178 stores we priced, in all 17 states where we priced stores, well outside spring. Swig's own posts tie it to spring and Valentine's Day.

How to order a lighter Spring Fling

These are menu facts, not diet advice:

Swap the base. Diet Dr Pepper and Dr Pepper Zero cost nothing extra at all 178 stores.
Ask for sugar-free vanilla. Swig's SF Vanilla costs the same as regular vanilla at all 178 stores ($0.40 or $0.45, depending on the store).
The strawberry puree and the coconut cream have no sugar-free versions on the menu. Swig's "SF Strawberry" is a separate sugar-free strawberry flavor, not the puree.
