Swig Logan: Menu With Prices, Hours and Location

Swig Logan is the South Main Street store in south Logan, the only Swig in Cache Valley and the nearest one for Preston, Malad City, Montpelier and Bear Lake. It has been open since 2016, and a 32 oz Texas Tab costs $3.64 here.

The Swig for Cache Valley and southeast Idaho

The next Swig south of Logan is Ogden Commons, 33.5 straight-line miles away, and the next one north is in Ammon, near Idaho Falls. We measured from 15 starting points across Cache Valley, Box Elder County, Bear Lake and southeast Idaho to see which store is nearest.

Logan is the nearest Swig for 13 of the 15. In the 12 clear wins, from the valley towns to Preston, Bear Lake and Montpelier, Ogden Commons sits 16.8 to 33.5 miles farther away. Brigham City is a near tie: Logan is just 1.6 miles closer than Ogden Commons. The two exceptions are farther north in Idaho, where Ammon is 6.9 miles closer for Soda Springs and 38.8 miles closer for Pocatello.

For southeast Idaho drivers, the choice between Logan and Ammon is also a price choice. Utah stores share one of the lowest price lists in the chain, and the eastern Idaho stores charge more.

Ammon and Rexburg charge more than Logan on 253 of the 299 prices, the same on 42, and less on 4. Those 4 are all 16 oz drinks a few cents cheaper in Idaho: The Fighter, Strawberry Breeze and Mango Breeze ($0.01 each) and Spice Spice Baby ($0.05). The usual gap is $0.10 to $0.20 a drink, but medium and large Swig Energy run $0.50 and $1.00 more in Idaho. Logan runs on the Utah week rather than that standard one. It opens at 7:30 AM on weekdays, half an hour before the standard week that 96 of the 177 stores keep, and at 8 AM on Saturday, a full hour earlier. It also closes half an hour later Monday to Saturday. Sunday is the same 11 AM–7 PM. That schedule is shared by 45 of the 49 Utah stores. On seating, Swig's records mark dine-in and takeout alongside the drive-thru. When the store opened in 2016, the Herald Journal described a seated dining area, walk-in ordering and a drive-through order shack where staff take orders in person; that layout may have changed since.

How Swig came to Logan

Logan is one of the older Swigs. The Herald Journal reported in July 2016 that "Swig n' Sweets", as it was then called, had opened at 880 S. Main St. as the chain's 12th location (Steve Kent, July 25, 2016). The shop took over roughly a third of the original Firehouse Pizzeria building, and the paper noted the chain chose the spot partly for its closeness to a college.

Three years later, the Herald Journal put Swig at 17 locations in Utah and Arizona (Savannah Pace, October 8, 2019). Swig's October 21, 2026 list has 49 Utah stores, and Logan is still the only one in Cache Valley.
